When was the last time you had communication from the animals?  First I had snake (read about it here), and now Racoon!

First, our fountain in the front yard appeared to be damaged. But then, on second look, the stones were misplaced, and the water splashed everywhere. But the fountain still worked. Leon figured it out right away. He said, “You know, raccoons are very playful around water.” Even though we’d never seen a raccoon in ARIZONA! We live on an arroyo which is a dry wash, and when it rains, it fills with water. And when it’s dry, it’s a wildlife canal. We’ve had deer, coyote, bobcat, skunk in our backyard, just to name a few! But we’d never seen raccoon.

Next our bird feeders were raided. And significant scratchings on the tree holding the feeders. Ah ha! I started to think Leon was right!

Then we heard a racket outside in the middle of the night, and when Leon turned on the outside light and opened the door, there was a raccoon scurrying away. Ah ha! Caught you! But what does it mean?

So interesting that following the Lesson from Snake (read more here), raccoon would have some similar meaning that takes the lesson a little farther! From Animal Speak! by Ted Andrews, here is part of the message of Raccoon.

“When we wear a mask, we are no longer who we thought. We make ourselves one with some other force. We create a doorway in the mind and in the physical world a threshold that we can cross to new dimensions and new beingness. This is the magic of raccoon….It can show you how to wear a healing mask or show you the face you shall become. The raccoon holds the knowledge of how to change our faces…If you are trying to make changes or endeavouring to hide changes you are making from others until you are in a better position, plan on using about a 20 week cycle. For longer and greater life transformations and such, when raccoon shows up you may want to make longer plans.”
